I've completed the first 10 minutes of a setting of the Requiem Mass: relatively easy choral parts are accompanied by a modest ensemble of wind and string sextets (solo players) with percussion. I won't be setting the Latin text in its entirety, but will include a number of English poems reflecting, in one way or another, on death, decay, and the passing of things.
These poems will be set for solo voices. (Britten's War Requiem is an obvious model for this kind of structure, but my work will perhaps be closer in spirit to Fauré.) If you know of anyone interested in commissioning such a work, please let me know!
